The man hit the guardrail on the ramp and was thrown 150 feet to the ground. His motorcycle kept moving for another quarter of a mile before stopping. According to police, it’s unclear what caused the crash.

The accident occurred on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard, north of Grand Avenue. The motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to the hospital. The driver was given a field sobriety test and failed and is expected to face criminal charges later today. The driver may have also been involved in another recent crash, because his vehicle had damage not related to the accident with the motorcycle.

King was among two dozen bikers and friends who call themselves “Keller’s Rat Pack” and congregate at Keller’s Drive-In on Northwest Highway in Dallas. That group and dozens more bikers held a memorial service ride from Keller’s to Garland, TX.
